12. BASE BASIC SETTING FROM THE HANDSET
To set dial mode (TONE or PULSE)
"NUMBER 1". (Note: if a number is already in that location it will be shown
also on the bottom line.)
If you want to program (or change) the number to be barred in this location,
press , and the cursor will flash on the bottom number line.
Key in the digits you want to program, using R/DEL if you want to delete digits,
and then press to confirm the number. The display will show
the programmed entry.
If you want to program another location, press or to scroll
through NUMBER 1,2,3, or 4. Press
to select another location 
and program the number as described above.
Press to go back to idle mode at any time.
This allows you to restore the handset to its default settings. The handset menu
settings will be returned to their initial default settings, and the CID and redial lists
will be cleared. The phonebook and TAM settings will not be changed.

You can set some of the basic base functions from the cordless handset.
The base must be powered up and in idle mode, otherwise you will hear an
error tone when you try to access the "BS SETTING" menu.
The default setting of this
CC2300 telephone is TONE (also called Touch Tone,
MF or DTMF), and normally this will be correct for the UK, so will not need to be
changed.
However, for some old telephone lines or PABX systems you may need to
change the dialling mode from Tone to Pulse.
