Basic Setup: The Probe Setup Panel
This panel shows setup information related to the handpiece and vitreous probe
selections. Figure 2-32 shows the Probe Setup Panel:

Type Button - Pressing this button displays the options for vitreous probe selection.
The following probe types are selectable from the drop list:
UltraVit
Low Speed Vit
The panel shows the vitreous probe the user has chosen and/or plugged in. When
the system detects that a probe has been connected, the probe type is automatically
selected and the “connected” icon appears next to the selection list.
Type Button - Pressing this button displays the gauge size options. When the system
detects connection of a probe and probe gauge size, the user will not be able to select
another probe from the touchscreen (the selection list is locked). The following probe
gauge sizes are selectable from the drop list:
20 Gauge
23 Gauge
25 Gauge
Skip Prime Option Button - Selecting this option tells the system to skip priming
the selected vitreous probe. This button is a toggle switch that displays a checkmark
in the center of the button when active. When the checkmark is present, the system
will not prime nor tune the vitreous probe in the next Prime/Tune request.
Expand Button - Pressing the expand button opens the detailed setup popup that
is covered later in this section.
Probe status is displayed at the bottom of the setup panel and indicates whether the
probe has been primed and tested. A ""indicates that the priming and/or testing has
been completed, while an "X" indicates the they have not.
