INTRODUCTION
BEFORE YOU START
Required Tools for Post Installation
Please be sure to gather these necessary tools before beginning your project:
• Tape measure
• Can of white paint to mark post
holes for 811 locator (athletic
striping)
• (2) Stakes
• Mallet
• Quick-set concrete (7-8 bags)
• Hoe (for mixing the concrete)
• Water bucket
• Wheelbarrow
• Post hole digger
• Shovel
• Box beam level
• Line level
• String line
• Wrenches (3/4-inch and 1/2-inch)
• Grease gun
IMPORTANT Call 811 Before You Dig to Locate Buried Utilities!
It is extremely important to call before you dig to avoid damaging buried water,
electrical, and gas lines. Call 811 at least a few days prior to starting your project;
each state has its own 811 call center to assist you. Whether you intend to install
your gate yourself or prefer to hire a professional, always call in advance to
avoid delays.

Building and safety codes vary in each state and county, especially if you wish to add gate
automation to your project in the future. Your local building and re inspectors can advise you on
what your local codes are.
