FSC Certied (314 Series) and SVLK (40/340 Series) teak
• Teak wood is used for making furniture, boats, and other
things which require resistance to the outdoor elements.
Because of its density and high content of silica and rubber,
it provides strength, beauty, durability and longevity that
is unmatched by any other wood on Earth. Left outdoors
in the elements, it is not uncommon for a piece of well
made teak furniture to last for 75 to 100 years and is often
passed down from generation to generation.
• As the outer layer of your teak dries over time, it will begin
to patina (lose its color and begin turning grey). Many
people feel that this is when the furniture begins to show
its true beauty, while others prefer various colorations of
newer un-weathered or treated teak.
• The aged patina look of teak is only on the surface, is
NOT indicative of disintegration or degradation, and can
almost always be reversed with the above-mentioned
cleaning and oil treatments.
• Checks and small hairline cracks are a normal occurrence
as the wood expands and contracts. This is not a defect
but an indicator that it is time to treat your product.
Should your product develop some cracks or splinters
over time, sand the area very lightly before treatment.
• Soapy water and a soft sponge or non-abrasive cloths can
be used to lightly clean product frames from normal dirt,
grime, and dust buildup. Do not use chemicals, bleach, or
abrasive cleansers in cleaning any parts of your furniture.
• After exposing any wood collection to the elements,
it is best to tighten any loose ttings and joints. It is
recommended to do so every 3-6 months.

You can maintain the appearance of teak through the occasional
multi-step process of cleaning, coloring, and sealing the
product. Depending on the amount of sun exposure your teak
furniture gets, this could be needed as infrequently as every
few years to as often as every few months. Before treating,
check for any residue buildup. If this occurs, a light sanding is
recommended. Please see the steps on the next page.
We recommend that you treat your furniture in the shade or
under cover. Also, treat the product completely on top and
underneath. After treating, wipe off excess oil and allow oil
to dry in the shade away from direct sunlight, then wipe off
with clear rag to remove any excess oil. This process should be
repeated every 3-6 months as desired to maintain the look you
want.
We recommend the Golden Care products shown here. Always
test a small area and follow instruction when applying any
product to the surface of teak.
