• All connections and conduits from the generator to the load must only be installed by trained and
licensed electricians, and in c ompliance with allrelevantlocal,state,andfederalelectrical
codes an d standards, and other regulations where applicable.
• The generator must be earth-grounded for fixed installations in accordance with all relevant
electricalcodesandstandardsbeforeoperation.
• Donotattempttoconnectordisconnectloadconnectionswhilestandinginwater,oronwetor
soggy ground.
• Donottouchelectricallyenergizedpartsofthegeneratorandinterconnectingcablesor
conductorswithanypartofthebody,orwithanynon-insulatedconductiveobject.
• Connectthegeneratoronlyto a loadorelectricalsystem(120volt)thatiscompatiblewiththe
electric al charac teristics and rated capac ities of the generator.
• Before servicing equipment powered by the generator, disconnect the equipment from its power
input.
• Keepallelectricalequipmentcleananddry.Replaceanywiringwheretheinsulationiscracked,
cut abraded or other wise degraded. Replace terminals that are worn, disc olored, or corroded.
Keep terminals clean and tight.
• Insulate all connections and disconnected wires.
• Guardagainstelectricshock.Preventbodycontactwithgroundedsurfacessuchaspipes,
radiators, ranges, an d refrigerator enclosures.

• Stayalert.Watchwhatyouaredoing,andusecommonsensewhenoperating a generator.Do
notusegeneratorwhiletiredorundertheinfluenceofdrugs,alcohol,ormedication. A moment
of inattention while operat in g gen erator s may resul t in seri ous per so nal injury.
• Dressproperly.Donotwearlooseclothingorjewelry.Containlonghair.Keepyourhair,clothing,
andglovesawayfrommovingparts.Looseclothes,jewelry,orlonghaircanbecaughtin
moving parts.
