The information in the tab is described in Table 4.
Table 4. General Tab
Parameter Definition
System Information Section
MAC Address The MAC address of the master switch.
Model Name The model name of the master switch.
Serial Number The serial number of the master switch.
System Name The name of the stack. To set the name,
refer to “Configuring the Stack’s Name,
Location, and Contact” on page 20.
Administrator The name of the network administrator
responsible for managing the stack. To
set the name of the administrator, refer to
“Configuring the Stack’s Name, Location,
and Contact” on page 20.
Comments The location of the stack, (for example,
4th Floor - rm 402B). To set the location,
refer to “Configuring the Stack’s Name,
Location, and Contact” on page 20.
BOOTP/DHCP The source of the IP address of the local
interface. This field will be “DHCP” or
“BOOTP” if the local interface obtained its
IP configuration from a DHCP or BOOTP
server. Alternatively, if the IP address was
set manually, this field will be “Static.”
This field will be blank if the stack does
not have a local interface.
IP Address The IP address of the local interface.
Subnet Mask The subnet mask of the local interface.
