The Allied Telesyn family of Switches delivers
versatile, highly resilient Gigabit to Fast
Ethernet switching with advanced multi-layer
capabilities for demanding network core
configurations and aggregation of edge
switches. Our current switches address
today's heterogenous networks - from the
smallest small business network to large
enterprise LANS - and facilitate their growth
by offering numerous options.
Layer 2 Ethernet
Allied Telesyns full range of standalone and stackable
Layer 2 switches go from 10Mbps to 1Gbps,
offering scalable network bandwidth to manage
data, voice, and video traffic across the network.
Copper and fibre models in unmanaged or
intelligent versions can be used to build dependable
networks.
Layer 3-7 Networking
Technology
Allied Telesyns standalone and chassis-based Layer 3
switch/router solutions are designed to provide high
performance, multi-layer switching platforms for
desktop, workgroup and core connectivity at speeds
up to 1Gbps.The Rapier 24i switch is the only Layer
3 switch on the market that can aggregate E1 and E3
circuits into Ethernet with rate limiting capability.
Gigabit Ethernet
As high-speed Gigabit Ethernet continues to spread
from the LAN into the data centre and out to the
network service provider, Ethernet will become
even more pervasive, with accelerated adoption
expected in almost every market. Allied Telesyns
Gigabit Ethernet capabilities are considerable and
fast growing, offering exceptionally high
performance, reliability and price/performance.
Stackability
Allied Telesyns stacking implementation gives
customers a high performing, easy to manage, low
cost of ownership solution that is easily integrated
into an installed base of networking solutions.
Allied Telesyns stacking implementation enables
network managers to manage up to nine
geographically dispersed switches with the same
effort as the management of one. Our stacking
implementation provides Web and CLI-based
management of the switches through a single IP
address. Using open standards Ethernet interfaces as
stacking links, the Allied Telesyn stacking
implementation avoids the use of expensive
specialised hardware with limited topologies.
This stacking functionality is available on the
Rapier, 8600, 8700, 8800, 8948 and 9900 series
switches.
