11.1.2 Port Range Forwarding
Setting up a Port Forwarding Virtual Host: If the server function (which means the server for an
external service such as WWW, FTP, Mail, etc) is contained in the network, we recommend that users
use the firewall function to set up the host as a virtual host, and then convert the actual IP addresses
(the Internet IP addresses) with Port 80 (the service port of WWW is Port 80) to access the internal
server directly. In the configuration page, if a web server address such as 192.168.1.50 and the Port 80
has been set up in the configuration, this web page will be accessible from the Internet by keying in the
device actual IP address such as, http://211.243.220.43.
At this moment, the device actual IP will be converted into “192.168.1.50” by Port 80 to access the
web page.
In the same way, to set up other services, please input the server TCP or UDP port number and
the virtual host IP addresses.
