4.3 KEY IGNITION SWITCH (Fig. 4.1 no.3)
«OFF» everything is switched o;
«HEADLIGHTS ON» (if tted);
«ON» activates all parts;
«START» engages the starter motor.
On being released at the «START» position,
the key will automatically return to «O.
After turning the engine on, turn the lights on
(if tted) by turning the key to the «HEAD-
LIGHTS ON» position.
–  To switch them o, turn the key to «ON».
4.4 PARKING BRAKE (Fig. 4.1 no.4)
This lever stops the machine from moving when
it has been parked. There are two positions:
«A»  =   Brake disengaged
«B»   =  Brake engaged
–  The brake is applied by pressing the pedal
right down (4.21 or 4.31) and moving the lever
to position “B. When you take your foot o
the pedal it will be blocked by the lever in the
lowered position.
–  To disengage the parking brake, press the
pedal (4.21 or 4.31). The lever will return to
position «A».
4.5 CUTTING MEANS ENGAGE AND
BRAKE CONTROLS (Fig. 4.1 no.5)
The mushroom switch allows you to engage the
cutting means using the electromagnetic clutch:
«A»  Pressed =  Cutting means
disengaged
«B»  Pulled =  Cutting means engaged
–  If you engage the cutting means without tak-
ing the necessary safety precautions, the
engine shuts down and cannot be restarted
(see 5.2).
–  In disengaging the cutting means (Pos. «A»),
a brake is simultaneously activated which
stops their rotation within a few seconds.
4.6 CUTTING HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT
LEVER (Fig. 4.1 no.6)
There are seven positions for this lever, shown
as «1» to «7» on the label, which correspond to
various heights between 3 and 8 cm.
To go from one position to another, move the
lever sideways and put it back in one of the stop
notches.
4.7 REVERSE GEAR CUTTING CONSENT
BUTTON (Fig. 4.1 no.7)
By pressing and holding this button, it is pos-

means engaged without causing the engine to
stop.
Mechanical transmission
4.21 CLUTCH / BRAKE PEDAL
(Fig. 4.2 no.21)
This pedal has two functions: during the rst
part of its travel it acts as a clutch, engaging
and disengaging drive to the wheels, and in
the second part it acts as a brake on the rear
wheels
IMPORTANT Do not keep the pedal half
way between clutch engagement or disen-
gagement, as this can cause overheating and
damage the transmission belt.
NOTE When the machine is in movement,
keep your foot off the pedal.
4.22 SPEED CHANGE LEVER
(Fig. 4.2 no.22)
This lever has seven positions for the 5 for-
ward speeds, the neutral position «N», and
reverse «R».
To go from one speed to another, press the
pedal (4.21) halfway and shift the lever as
shown on the label.
WARNING! Reverse must be en-
gaged when the machine has stopped.
Hydrostatic transmission
4.31 BRAKE PEDAL (Fig. 4.3 no.31)
This pedal works the brake on the rear
wheels.
4.32 CLUTCH PEDAL (Fig. 4.3 no.32)
This pedal engages drive in the wheels and
controls the machine’s forward and reverse
speed.
