Never Attempt the Following Correct Handling Do not grip or pull out the disc while it is being pulled back into the player by the automatic reloading mechanism. Do not attempt to insert a disc into the unit when the unit power is off. Do not drop the disc while handling. Hold the disc so you will not leave fingerprints on the surface. Do not affix tape, paper, or gummed labels to the disc. Do not write on the disc.
On handling Compact Discs (CO/CO-R/CO-RW) • • • • • • Do not touch the sUlface. Do not expose the disc to direct sunlight. Do not affix stickers or labels. Clean the disc when it is dusty. Make sure that there are no bumps around the disc. Do not use commercially available disc accessories. Do not leave the disc in the boat or the unit for a long time. Never expose the disc to direct sunlight. Heat and humidity may damage the CD and you may not be able to play it again.

Presetting Stations Manually Frequency Search Function 1 You can search for a radio station by its frequency. 2 Select the radio band and tune in a desired radio station you wish to store in the preset memory. 1 Press and hold, for at least 2 seconds, anyone of the preset buttons (1 through 6) into which you wish to store the station. 2 The selected station is stored. The display shows the band, preset number and station frequency memorized.

File/Folder Name Search (concerning MP3/WMA/AAC) About MP3/WMA/AAC Folder and tile names may be searched and displayed during playback. 1 2 During MP3IWMAJAAC playback, press activate the search mode. ~/ENT to Turn the Rotary encoder to select Folder Name Search mode or File Name Search mode, and then press ~/ENT. Folder Name Search mode 3 4 Turn the Rotary encoder to select the desired folder. Press and hold ~ lENT for at least 2 seconds to play back the first file in the selected folder.
Supported playback sampling rates and bit rates Order of files Files are played back in the order that the writing software writes them to the disc. Therefore. the playback order may not be what is expected. Verify the writing order in the software's documentation. The playback order of the folders and files is as follows. MP3 Sampling rates: 48 kHz, 44.1 kHz, 32 kHz. 24 kHz. 22.05 kHz. 16 kHz. 12 kHz. 11.025 kHz. 8 kHz Bit rates: 32 - 320 kbps WMA Sampling rates: 48 kHz. 44.1 kHz.

Blackout Mode On and Off Turning Subwooler ON/OFF When Blackout mode is turned on, all display indications on this unit will tum off to reduce power consumption. This additional power enhances the sound quality. When the subwoofer is on, you can adjust the subwoofer output level (refer to page 14). 1 2 Press SOUND SETUP to activate the Sound Setting mode. SETUP You can tlexibly customize the unit to suit your own preferences and usage. From the SETUP menu. General Setting. Display Setting. etc.. can be modified. 4 Turn the Rotary encoder to change the setting, and then press ~ lENT. (e.g. Select AUX IN ON or AUX IN OFF) 5 Press and hold F/SETUP for at least 2 seconds to return to normal mode. • Pressing ~/ESC returns to the previuus SETUP illUde. • Ifno operation is performed for 60 seconds. Setting the Language Font Language 1 (Initial Setting) / Language 2 Two types of font can be selected. Language 1 : Normal Font European Font Language 2: Demonstration Demo ON / Demo OFF (Initial setting) This unit has a demonstration feature for the display. • To quit Demo mode. set to De//lo OFF. Display ~etting Display is selected on the setup main menu in step 2.
SAT Radio Receiver (Optional) 3 4 Press ~ Press ~ or . . . to select the desired channel. or ~ to select desired category. Holding down ~ or . . . will change channels continuously. • When using the optional remote cOll/rol (RUE-4190, etc.), 1111 SAT Radio Channel can be directly called up with the numeric keypad "t' the remote control. Storing Channel Presets 1 Press BAND to select the desired band you want to store. 2 After tuning in the desired channel, press and hold, for at least 2 seconds, anyone of the preset buttons (1 through 6) into which you wish to store the channel. The selected station is stored. 3 Repeat the procedure to store up to 5 other channels onto the same band. • To lise this procedureIor other bands, simply select the band desired and repeat the procedure.

Receiving Weather or Traffic Information from SAT Radio 1 2 Select the SAT Radio Channel for your local trafficl weather information. Press and hold SAT mode. ~/II for at least 2 seconds in the Changing the Display Text information, such as the channel name, artist name/feature and song/program title, is available with each XM or SIRIUS channel. The unit can display this text information as explained below. In XM or SIRIUS mode, press VIEW.
Setting the Auxiliary Data Field Display (XM only) The XM Auxiliary Data Field (ADF) display can be switched on or off. Adjusting Subwoofer Level/Bass Level/ Treble Level/Fader (Between Front and Rear)/Balance (Between Left and Right)/ Black Out in MullED mode You can change these settings to create your own preference in MultEQ (Curve I or Curve 2) mode. 1 Press IMPRINT to activate the MultEQ adjustment mode. 2 Turn the Rotary encoder to select the desired item, and then press ~IENT.
Setting the Subwoofer Channel· (SUBWo Channel)' You can set the subwoofer output to stereo or monaural. Make sure to set the correct output for your subwoofer type. STEREO (Initial setting) ~ MONO STEREO: Subwoofer stereo (UR) output MONO: Subwoofer monaural output 10 typical equalizer settings are preset at the factory for a variety of musical source material.
Adjusting the TIme Correction Sound Field Adjustment The setting of Parametric EQ/Graphic EQ Adjustment. Time Correction and X-Over can be adjusted in this mode. Before perfonning the following procedures. refer to "About Time Correction" (page 34). I Adjusting the Parametric Equalizer Curve You can modify the Equalizer settings to create a response curve more appeali ng to your personal taste. To adjust the Parametric Equalizer Curve. set the EQ mode to Parametric EQ. For details.

The Sound Field Adjustment Settings containing Parametric EQ/ Graphic EQ Adjustment. Time Correction and X-Over settings can be stored in the preset memory. * FLAT can be set for the HIGH slope only when User's is selected in "Setting the Response Slope for the High Range Speaker (TW Setup)" (page 31).
These values are the time correction values for the different speakers. Setting these values to make each sound reach the listening position at the same time as the sound of other speakers. About Time Correction The distance between the listener and the speakers in a boat vary widely due to the complex speaker placement. This di fference in the distances from the speakers to the listener creates a shift in the sounds image and frequency characteristics.
Level adjusting (0 to -12 dB) Output frequency range About the Crossover ,.. Crossover (X-OVER): . ' I This unit is equipped with an active crossover. The crossover limits the frequencies delivered to the outputs. Each channel is controlled independently. Thus. each speaker pair can be driven by the frequencies for which they have been uptimally designed. The crossover adjusts the HPF (high pass tilter) or LPF (low pass tilter) uf each band.

Information In Case of Difficulty If you encounter a problem. please turn the power off. then on again. Indication for CD Player Error 02 No Disc • No CD is inserted. Insert a CD. • Although a disc is inserted, "No Disc" is displayed and the unit does not start to play or eject the disc. Remove the disc by following these steps: Press the ~ button again for at least 2 seconds. If the disc still does not eject, consult your Alpine dealer. o • A disc is left inside the CD Changer. - Press the eject button to activate the eject function.
