Installation Installation • When making connections to the vehicle's electrical system, be aware of the factory installed components (e.g. on-board computer). Do not tap into these leads to provide power for this unit. When connecting the ICS-X7HD to the fuse box, make sure the fuse for the intended circuit of the ICS-X7HD has the appropriate amperage. Failure to do so may result in damage to the unit and/or the vehicle. When in doubt, consult your Alpine dealer.
4 Reinforce the head unit with the metal mounting strap (not supplied). Secure the ground lead of the unit to a clean metal spot using a screw (*1) already attached to the vehicle's chassis. Connect each input lead coming from an amplifier or equalizer to the corresponding output lead coming from the left rear of the ICS-X7HD. Turning Power On or Off Initial System Start-Up Some of this unit’s functions cannot be performed while the vehicle is in motion. Be sure to stop your vehicle in a safe location and apply the parking brake, before attempting these operations. Be sure to press the RESET switch when using the unit for the first time, after changing the car battery, etc. 1 Turn the ignition key to the ACC or ON position. The system turns on.
Using the Home Screen The Home Screen displays icons for applications that can be operated with this device. You can easily display the Home Screen and switch to the application of your choice. Customizing the Home Screen Rearranging the Application Icons 1 The display will change to Icon Rearrangement mode. will display on the icon. Displaying the Home Screen 1 Press the Home button. Using the Favorites Menu 3 Touch an icon in Favorites or displayed on the Home screen and drag and drop to the desired location in Favorites. Favorites is a shortcut function that lets you easily switch to the application of your choice. Favorites menu displays on your current screen and can register up to 4 icons for applications you use frequently. Display the Favorites Menu 1 Touch the Home button. The Favorites menu is displayed.
Switching Between Simple Mode & Info Mode You can select between the Simple mode and Info mode for the main screen display for audio/visual applications. To display all the operation buttons, switch to Info mode. Touch [ About the Indicator Display The Indicator Bar at the bottom of the screen displays various types of information, like the current time. ]. The screen changes to Simple mode or Info mode.
Radio/HD Radio™ /RBDS ICS-X7HD can receive HD Radio signals based on digital radio broadcast standards in addition to analog radio broadcasts using RBDS. The HD Radio broadcasts may be received in areas where current AM/ FM broadcasters are providing digital services. This unit will automatically detect and play the digital signal for high quality sound reproduction. During weaker signal conditions, the tuner may be forced to switch from HD Radio to analog RBDS mode for FM or analog AM.
Presetting Stations Manually Forced Analog Mode 1 Activate the Compulsory Analog Radio mode to receive only analog radio signals. 2 Tune in a desired radio station you wish to store in the preset memory by manual or automatic seek tuning. Touch and hold any one of the preset buttons for at least 2 seconds. The selected station is stored. • To toggle between preset buttons 1-3 and preset buttons 4-6, touch [ ] or [ ] on either side of the preset buttons.
Storing the Tag Information (HD Radio Mode only) iTunes Tagging lets you tag songs heard on HD Radio stations. You can preview, buy and download later, songs from your iTunes tagged playlist the next time you sync your iPod/iPhone. If the unit is connected to a Tagging compatible iPod/iPhone, you can use the iTunes Tagging function. For details, refer to the Owner’s Manual of the Tagging compatible iPod/iPhone. When a desired song is heard on an HD Radio station, touch [Tag.] to save its tag information.

Audio Setup Audio Setup Operation To display the Audio Setup Menu screen: Your vehicle must be parked with the ignition key in the ACC or ON position. To do this, follow the procedures below. • Immediately after changing the Audio Setup (while the system is writing data automatically) do not turn the ignition key to OFF. Otherwise, the settings may not be changed.
Setting the Volume for Each Application MX MirrorLink The medium to high frequencies become more clear, and produces well balanced sound in all the bands. [Application Volume Setup] is selected on the Audio setup menu in step 3. Refer to “Audio Setup Operation” (page 20). The volume level for each application can be adjusted. MX PANDORA This corrects information that was omitted at the time of compression. This reproduces a well-balanced sound close to the original.
Download Sound Setting 1 Touch [msec] or [cm] to select mode for making adjustments. Each time you touch, the onscreen button and correction mode changes. [Download Sound Setting] is selected on the Audio setup menu in step 3. Refer to “Audio Setup Operation” (page 20). Using a USB memory device, the sound settings downloaded from the ALPINE website can be used to configure Time Correction, X-OVER and Parametric EQ settings.

These values are the time correction values for the different speakers. Setting these values to make each sound reach the listening position at the same time as the sound of other speakers. About Time Correction The distance between the listener and the speakers in a car vary widely due to the complex speaker placement. This difference in the distances from the speakers to the listener creates a shift in the sounds image and frequency characteristics.
About the Crossover Display Setup Crossover (X-OVER): This unit is equipped with an active crossover. The crossover limits the frequencies delivered to the outputs. Each channel is controlled independently. Thus, each speaker pair can be driven by the frequencies for which they have been optimally designed. The crossover adjusts the HPF (high pass filter) or LPF (low pass filter) of each band, and also the slope (how fast the filter rolls off the highs or lows).

Setting the Passcode You can set the code for connecting with a BLUETOOTH compatible device. Screen/LED Customize Touch [Screen/LED Customize] on the General setup menu in step 3. Setting item: Passcode Change 1 Touch [Input] of “Passcode Change.” A numeric keypad screen is displayed. 2 Enter a 4-digit passcode, and then touch [Enter].
Adjusting the Touch Panel Application Setup Adjustment becomes necessary when the display position on the LCD and the touch position on the touch panel do not match. Setting the Favorite Sports Team Alerts This menu option allows you to select your favorite teams. It is organized by league. An alert is displayed when your favorite team is playing on another channel. For some sports, individuals are considered ‘teams’. Setting item: Game Alert Setup 1 Touch [Game Alert Setup]. Playing back a DRM protected DivX File Some operations cannot be performed while displaying the following message. Authorization Error. This player is not authorized to play this video. • The version of the DRM protected DivX® File is not supported by this unit. - Play the supported DivX® File. Rental Expired. • The file being attempted to play has a limited number of viewings. The viewing limit has been reached and can no longer be played on this device.
