ADJUSTING THE HEIGHT OF THE COCKPIT
The cockpit slides up and down on a bearing system and is counter-
weighted to make it easy to lift.
CAUTION: Before lifting the cockpit, ensure that the
cockpit lock is in the open position, all the way to the left
side of its travel. If it is not fully unlocked, it may engage
in the lowest position as you lift. See Figure 6.
Stand centered in the hole in the fabric enclosure facing forward with
both feet on the treadmill belt. Lower yourself by bending at the knees
and grasp the cockpit on either side. With a straight back and good
lifting technique, lift the cockpit to the appropriate height and engage
the lock by pulling the lock lever to the right. Do not force the lever.
You may have to “jiggle” the cockpit up and down slightly to get the
lock pins to engage. When fully enaged, the lock lever will be
positioned all the way to the right in the slot. See Figure 7.
