Installation Instructions
Mounting the UCS PRO
The UCS PRO has two fixing 'ears' at each side, allowing it to be firmly screwed to a suitable surface. Take care not to
mount the unit where it may become wet or subject to damage from items placed in the trunk area. The unit may be
mounted vertically or horizontally, but avoid mounting it upside-down (i.e. suspended under a shelf) as this may affect
heat dissipation.
The UCS PRO uses an internal cooling fan, similar to the type used in a PC, to keep its powerful DSP
device cool. The unit's side and upper vents must not be obstructed.
IMPORTANTIMPORTANT
Where to place the UCS PRO in the signal path
The UCS PRO should be placed into the audio system circuit immediately before the amplifier(s), and after any other
equalizers or sound processors. It must always be placed in line BEFORE the power amplifier stage.
Signal Inputs/Outputs
The Input terminals are standard (unbalanced) phono type sockets, color-coded red (right channel) and white (left chann el).
Connect the low-level pre-amplifier output cables from your car radio/cassette player, CD/receiver or other source unit
to the Input terminals of the UCS PRO.
There are 6 Output channels that will generally be used as 3 sets of stereo outputs (i.e. low band, mid band and high
band), but since there are no restrictions on how each channel can be used, these are labelled simply OUT1 to OUT6.
They use standard color-coding on the terminals (red=right channel, white=left channel). Each of the output terminals
should be connected to an amplifier input channel.
Where you have a requirement to feed a high level, speaker level or Balanced type signal from your CD
player or other source unit to the Inputs of the UCS PRO, use the optional Alto Mobile UI-2 universal input
interface.

TIPTIP
Power, Ground and Remote Switch-On (REM) Terminals
Caution: Before making any connections, you must stop power delivery from the battery to avoid accidental short-circuits.
The conventional way is to disconnect the Negative terminal of the battery but beware - this action will disconnect power
