scans for nearby devices. In this case, the sensor has to be manually factory reset before it can be added
to the new account, a firmware upgrade will be required after that, see Sec. 4.2.17 Factory Reset for
details.
4.2.12 Privacy Mode
The “Privacy Mode” switch in the sensor page can be used to control the privacy mode of the sensor’s
background image. Its function is the same as that in the Calibrate page explained in Sec. 4.1.4
Calibration.
If you plan to add a batch of sensors in the privacy mode, then before entering the Calibrate page, you
can set the Privacy Mode switch to Private in the sensor page. This ensures the first background image
automatically captured in the Calibrate page is in the private mode, and there is no need to recalibrate.
4.2.13 Upside-Down Installation
The sensor’s background image and stick figures will be flipped if the device is installed upside-down (for
Sentinare 2, the USB port is in the top if the sensor is installed upside-down). To correct this, tap the
Upside-Down Installation” command in the sensor setting page. For the Cypress sensor, the device will
restart to make the change effective. On Sentinare 2, changing this toggle does not restart the sensor,
and the stick figure will be flipped immediately. In both case, the background image will not be updated
automatically. A floor calibration is needed to update the background image.
For the Sentinare 2 sensor, the “Upside-Down Installation” toggle in the sensor page is the same as that
in the Calibrate page explained in Sec. 4.1.4 Calibration.
If you plan to add a batch of sensors in the upside-down way, then before entering the Calibrate page,
you can turn on the Upside-Down Installation toggle in the sensor page. This ensures the first
background image automatically captured in the Calibrate page is correct, and there is no need to
recalibrate.
4.2.14 Delay Fall Alert
The “Delay Fall Alert” is a toggle switch. When “Delay Fall Alert” is ON, the Sentinare activity sensor
will only send fall alert 30 seconds after a fall is detected. During this period, the LED in the senor will
flash RED, indicating that a fall is detected. After 30 seconds, if the person still falls on the ground, the
LED will turn to purple and a fall alert will be sent. If the person stands up within 30 seconds, the LED will
turn off and no alert will be sent.
