Remove the door panel and lay it flat on a worktable
with the handles accessible. Secure the towel bar base to
the towel bar with the #7 x 1/2" flat head screw. Use alcohol
to thoroughly clean the towel bar pad and cap and the glass
on both sides in the approximate location where the towel
bar will be attached to the glass. Loosen the handle screws
until the exterior handle can be removed. Attach the cap
nut to the exterior of the panel with the lower handle
screws. Loosely thread the upper screw into the towel bar.
Using a carpenter's framing square or tape measure, square
up the towel bar on the door panel. Use a pencil to mark the
towel bar pad's location on the glass (mark must be visible
through the glass).
Remove the towel bar assembly and turn the door
panel over so the interior side is up. Apply a structural
adhesive such as epoxy*
(not supplied)
on the interior face
of the glass in the location marked. Press the towel bar cap
into place and secure it with a strip of masking tape.
Turn the door panel back over so the exterior face is up,
being careful not to move the towel bar cap. Apply adhesive
onto the glass in the marked position. Reattach the towel
bar and handle screw and carefully rotate the towel bar into
position and press it firmly into the adhesive. Use several
strips of masking tape to secure the towel bar. After the
adhesive has cured, reinstall the door panel.
* An optional adhesive kit is available.
Adhesive Kit Part Number: EPH-N00-04375.
