Changing Batteries I APPETITE Risk of electric shock! Disconnect the product from any circuit, remove the test leads {S) from the input terminals and tum OFF the product before opening the case. Do not operate the product with an open case. Replace the batteries when the [low battery indicator (5) is show on the display. + Tum the lock of the battery compartment cover (O} by 180° in an anti-clockwise direction. = Open ths battery compartment. + Replace AAA batteries.
Automatic power OFF = In order to conserve battery life, the product automatically tums off after approximately 15 minutes. To tum the meter on again, tum the function switch (K) to the OFF position and then to the desired measurement made. + When “automatic power off” is enabled, the APO indicator (13) appears. * To deactivate “automatic power off”, press and hold the MODDED button (H) while switching the product on. The APO indicator (13) does not appear.
Display hold « To freeze the display reading, press the H / ¥ button (J). The H indicator (8) appears. * Press the H/ § button (J) again to return to normal operation. Changing the measurement range By default, the measurement range is set automatically and the AUTO indicator (6) appears. It is possible to set the measurement range manually (not in every measurement mode). + Press the RANGE button (G) to activate the manual mode and to disable the automatic range setting.
Zero the display * Press the REL / button {E) to zero the measured value (18). The A indicator {1} appears. «Press the REL / f button (E) again to show the absolute measurement. The A Indicator (1) disappears. Clamp measurement Disconnect the test leads (S) from the product before making clamp measurements.
Set the function switch to the 60A or 600A position. If the approx. range of the measurement is not known, select the highest range. Then move to the lower ranges if necessary. Press the MODDED button (H) to change the measurement mode. The set measurement mode is indicated by the following symbols: Symbol Measurement mu die ~ Alternating current Hz Frequency % Duty cycle = Direct current ‘When measuring DC current, allow time for the product to zero before taking a reading.
Inrush current flow * In AC current measurement mods, press the PEAK/INRUSH button {L} to measure the inrush current value. The INRUSH indicator (7) appears. + When the cultural Is switched off, clamp on the circuit being tested for inrush. = Energize the circuit being tested. * The product captures the inrush current and the reading hold on the display (F). + Press the PEAK/INRUSH button {) for 2 seconds to rectum to normal operation. The INRUSH indicator (7) disappears.
= Connect the test probes {S) in parallel to the circuit under test. * The stabilized value on the display (F} is read as the actual reading. Measuring AC voltage peaks * In AC voltage measurement mode, press the PEAK/INRUSH button {L} to measure the maximum peak and minimum peak values. * Press the PEAK/INRUSH button {U) to switch between the maximum (MAX) and minimum {MIN} measured value. The appropriate MAX/ MIN indicator (8) appears.
* In AC voltage measurement mode, press and held the MODERN button {H) for 2 seconds. The VFD indicator (10) appears. «Connect in parallel the test probes (S) to the circuit or component being measured. + The stabilized value on (F) is read as the actual reading. Press the MODDED button {H} for 2 seconds to return to normal operation. The VFD indicator (10) disappears.
Resistance measurement + Insert the black connector lead (S) into the negative COM (black) terminal {I} and the red connector lead (S}) into the positive V {red) terminal (M). * Set the function switch (K} to the Q/CAP position. = Connect the test probes (S) across the circuit or component being measured. + If OL appears on the display (F), the circuit or device belong tested Is open or has a resistance that Is above the range of the product.
* [f OL appears on the display (F), remove and discharge the capacitor. * The stabilized value on the display (F} is read as the actual reading. For very large values of capacitance measurement, it can take several minutes before the final reading stabilizes. When measuring electrolytic capacitors, follow the polarity -} of its leads to have a precise measurement.
Duty cycle measurement + Insert the black connector lead (S) into the negative COM (black) terminal {I} and the red connector lead (S}) into the positive V {red) terminal (M). Set the function switch (K) to the V /Hz/ % position. * Crass the MODDED button (H) to shift te measuring the duty cycle % (in percent}. * Connect the test probes (8) across the circuit of component being measured. « The stabilized value on the display (F) is read as the actual reading.
Connect the test prates (S) across the circuit or component being measured. If the measured circuit or component is electrically open, the display (F) shows OL. If the resistance beeping alerts that low resistance is measured. The stabilized value on (F) is read as the actual reading. Diode test Insert the black connector lead {S) into the negative COM {black} terminal {I} and the red connector lead (S) into the positive V Fred) terminal (M).
Forward votary typically indicates shorted diode indicates near 0 V and an ops diodes Indicates OL In both polarities. Temperature measurement * Insert the thermonuclear probe adapter (P) with the black connector Into the negative COM (black) terminal {) and with the red connector into the positive V (red) terminal (M). = Connect the thermoplastic probe (Q} to the thermonuclear probe adapter (P). The polarity marking of the probe (Q) must comes pond to the marking of the adapter (P).
For longer period of measurements, use a thermal tape to attach the thermonuclear probe to the surface belong measured. Risk of product damage! Disconnect the thermonuclear probe (Q) before changing to other electrical measurement mode. Non-contact voltage measurement I TREELINE Risk of electric shack! Before use, always test the voltage detector on a known live circuit to verify proper operation.
The conductors In electrical cords ars often twisted. For best results, rub the tip along the length of the cord to ensure getting the tip in close proximity to the live conductor. The product has high sensitivity. It is normal in its operation that static electricity or other sources of energy may randomly trip the sensor. The voltage detector only senses the presence of voltage. It does not indicate the actual voltage on the display (F).
= Never use corrosive detergents, wire brushes, abrasive scourers, metal or sharp utensils to clean the product. Storage « Store the product In Its original packaging In dry area.
