Congratulations on your purchase of AMD’s Processor in
a Box (PIB)! Please follow these instructions carefully to
help ensure the most positive experience with your system.
WARNING –
1. As with all computer equipment, the PIB components can be damaged by
Electro Static Discharge (ESD). Take proper ESD precautions when handling
PIB components.
2. To ensure full compliance with AMD’s Limited Warranty for PIB products, a
heat sink fan assembly must be used. For those PIB products that include
a heat sink fan, the heat sink fan assembly included must be used. Please
refer to the included warranty for details. Additional information can be
found at www.amd.com
3. Do not apply voltage until the heat sink is fully installed. If voltage is
applied before the heat sink is fully installed, the processor will overheat
and failure will result. Read through and understand the installation
instructions completely before you begin.
4. The PIB is intended to be operated only within the associated AMD
published specifications and factory settings (AMD Specifications) and
may only be used with socket infrastructure set forth in such specification.
Operation of the PIB outside of the AMD Specifications, including but not
limited to use with a socket infrastructure other than the socket
infrastructure set forth in the specification, may damage the processor
and/or lead to other problems, including but not limited to: damage to
your system components including your motherboard and components
thereon (e.g. memory); system instabilities (e.g. data loss and corrupted
images); reduction in system performance; shortened processor, system
component and/or system life; and in extreme cases, total system failure.
DAMAGE CAUSED BY OR ISSUES ARISING FROM USE OF THE AMD
PROCESSOR WITH A SOCKET INFRASTRUCTURE OTHER THAN THAT SET
FORTH IN THE AMD SPECIFICATIONS OR USE OR INSTALLATION OF THE
AMD PROCESSOR OUTSIDE OF THE AMD SPECIFICATIONS OR INSTRUCTIONS
SET FORTH HEREIN IS NOT COVERED UNDER ANY AMD PRODUCT
WARRANTY AND AMD HAS NO OBLIGATION TO PROVIDE SUPPORT OR
SERVICE FOR SUCH AMD PRODUCT. YOU MAY ALSO NOT RECEIVE SUPPORT,
SERVICE OR WARRANTY FROM YOUR BOARD OR SYSTEM MANUFACTURER
FOR THOSE AMD PRODUCTS.
