INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

INSTALLATION
1. Make sure all items have been removed
from cartons before discarding. Pole:
Insert the mounting plate inside pole or
tenon adaptor, aligning the three (3)
mounting holes in plate with the three
(3) mounting holes provided on the pole.
Slide threaded rods through the top
and bottom mounting holes in pole and
start to thread the rods into the matching
holes in the mounting plate. A few turns
is all that is needed. Place one of the
enclosed gaskets over threaded rods
and against the pole.
WALL AND WOOD POLE: Secure
mounting plate to wall or wood pole by using
a fastener (supplied by others) with minimum size
of 1/2” diameter and a maximum size of 5/8” diameter. Be sure to
drill clearance holes of at least 9/16” diameter and 1/2” deep for the threaded rods
to come through threaded holes in mounting plate. Start to thread the rods into the
matching holes in mounting plate A few turns is all that is needed.Place one of the
enclosed gasket over threaded rods and against mounting plate.
2. The mounting arm is cut with a 2 degree angle on one end to pitch fixture slightly
upward. in order to mount arm properly, follow the instructions on the label that is
on the arm. To mount the arm, slide arm over threaded rod using the bolt guides
inside the arm. Again, check to see that label is in the correct place.Place remaining
gasket over threaded rods and against the mounting arm.
3. To simplify installation, remove door frame and power module to lighten fixture
(optional). To mount fixture, align the gasket to mounting holes between fixture
housing and mounting bracket. Insert threaded rods into fixture, being careful to
align gasketing between fixture housing and mounting arm. Install split lockwashers
and cap nuts (furnished) on threaded rod and tighten securely. During this process,
be sure the fixture is mounted straight on pole or wall.
4. Reinstall the power module, remembering to reconnect the quick-disconnect plug,
and pull both both supply and fixture leads into mounting arm or pole top. Complete
the wiring through the hand-hole access cover or in the pole top following
instructions listed under wiring fixture. Install the lamp following the lamp installation
instructions below and install lens frame. Be sure to tighten lens frame screws
securely. Swing hand-hole cover into closed position and secure (Note: 4” arm does
not have hand hole.)
WIRING FIXTURE
On 120 volt, 277 volt or 347 volt systems, connect the voltage supply lead to the
black fixture lead. Then connect the neutral supply lead to the white fixture lead.
Connect the green fixture lead to the system ground. Use approved connectors for
all electrical connections.
On other voltage systems, connect one supply lead to the black fixture lead and
the other supply lead to the white fixture lead. On multiple voltage fixtures, insulate
all unused fixture leads individually.
This fixture must be wired in accordance with the
National Electrical Code and applicable local codes
and ordinances.
Use approved connectors for all electrical connections.
Proper grounding is required to ensure personal safety.
Be certain green lead from the fixture is secured to
ground.
Use code compliant connectors for all electrical
connections.
ALL work should be done by a qualified electrician.

DELIVERY: Upon receipt of fixture and accessories
(packed separately), thoroughly inspect for any freight
damage which should be brought to the attention of
the delivery carrier. Compare the catalog description
listed on the packing slip with the fixture label on the
inside of the housing to be sure you have received
the correct merchandise.
Prior to Installation
Read carefully before installing light fixtures. If you do not understand these
instructions, please contact your local American Electric Lighting distributor
before installing.
TROUBLESHOOTING
In the event fixture fails to operate properly, first check the
following
The proper lamp installed. The lamp is not faulty.
The fixture is properly wired.
The fixture is properly grounded.
The line voltage (at the fixture) is correct.
If the fixture still fails after checking all the above, contact
local American Electric Lighting representative.
LAMP INSTALLATION
Prior to installing the lamp (not included) in the fixture, check
that the lamp is the proper type and wattage. Release three
(3) fasteners in the lens door frame by turning each fastener
counter clockwise with a screwdriver. Screw the lamp securely
into the socket, then back it out one or two turns, Screw the
lamp back in, making sure it is secure. Secure door fasteners
by turning each clockwise until tight.
IF LAMP IS MARKED IT CONTAINS MERCURY.

TOOLS REQUIRED: Straight blade screwdriver, 3/4” wrench or socket
1. Loosen turn fasteners and remove door (door will disengage from housing at a 90 degree
angle).
2. Remove reflector from housing and release quick-disconnect.
3. Remove power module (optional). Loosen (2) 1/4-20 screws and lift power module out.
Disconnect quick-disconnect and set aside.
4. Mount arm to pole (See mounting options below.)
5. Reverse steps 4 to 1.
