4. SEALING YOUR WOOD. Remember, stain will only provide color to you wood NOT a finish.
Therefore, you need to apply sealer. Remember to use the same base type of material. That is Oil-
base Stain to Oil-based Sealer, acrylic based Stain to acrylic based Sealer. Apply it by using a brush
or sprayer. Let it dry. If needed, sand with 220 Grit sandpaper. Wipe clean and apply another coat of
the Polyurethane Sealer. Sealers are mostly known as varnish, shellac or wood polish.
Note:
Installing Corbels: Our Corbel series can be mounted with the pre-attached metal keyhole brackets.
Larger sizes Corbels comes with 3 metal keyholes. Metal Keyholes allows each corbel to be easily hung
flush to any surface.
(Mounting screws are NOT supplied) with Corbels. If hanging corbels to a wall, it is recommended to place
the screw holes to be in the center of a wall stud. When inserting screws, it is recommended to leave ¼” of
the screw sticking out from the surface.
Once screws are into place, hook the corbel over the screw head and push corbel down into the locking
position. If the corbel is loose, remove the corbel and tighten screw half turn and try again until corbel is
secure against the wall of surface.
Once corbel is secure against the surface, it is up to the installer to use wood glues for a permanent
installation.
