BUN FEET INSTALLATION and WOOD FINISHING TIPS

What if my existing threaded insert does not match the new American Pro Decor bun foot?

Remove the old metal insert with a screwdriver.

Replace with the supplied 5/16-18 threaded tee nut. Use a hammer to tap in the tee nut.

Install your new American Pro Decor bun foot.

There are two options available.

• BUN FEET with HANGER THREAD BOLT • POWER DRILL with 11/32” DRILL BIT • SCREWDRIVER

• PENCIL • MEASURING TAPE and RULER • HAMMER

• WOOD GLUE • SOFA, CABINET, or OTHER FURNITURE

Drill a new hole approximately 1 to 1-1/8” deep using an 11/32 ” drill bit.

If you do not have a hole or cannot remove an existing metal insert:

Insert the provided tee nut as shown in Option One and install the bun foot.

PREPARING TO STAIN OR PAINT Decide which type of stain to use. You could use either an oil based or acrylic based stain. Whichever you decide, you will also be using the same type of sealer to finish up the staining process. When staining, make sure the room temperature is between 70 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit for best results. It is very important to test your stain colors on smaller samples of wood so that you know exactly how the finish will appear. STAINING 1. 2. 3. 4. SANDING.
