DO IT YOURSELF - VANITY TOP INSTALLATION GUIDE BEFORE YOU BEGIN IMPORTANT! DO NOT UNPACK VANITY TOP OR PROCEED ANY FURTHER WITHOUT READING THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS. This guide contains important information to help you install and care for your Silestone® vanity top. Please read these instructions thoroughly before starting your installation.
STOP! IMPORTANT LIFTING INSTRUCTIONS: TWO PEOPLE ARE REQUIRED TO UNPACK AND CARRY THIS VANITY TOP PROCEDURE 1. Use a damp cloth or vacuum to remove dust and dirt from top of the cabinet. 2. Allow surface to dry. 3. Apply a 1/4-inch bead of silicone along all parameter edges of the cabinet. (see fig. 1.1) 6. fig. 1.3 fig. 1.1 TIP: Before using silicone, make sure that the vanity top fits your cabinet. If your vanity top does not have proper clearance, do not force it on the cabinet 4.
BACKSPLASH INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 1. Prior to installation, identify the "face" (polished/gloss) surface and the "top edge" of the backsplash. Apply masking tape along bottom edge of backsplash and along the back edge of the vanity top (see fig. 2.1) The tape needs to be set away from the back edge of the top for the thickness of the splash + 1/8 - inches, this will aid in the removal of excess silicone. fig 2.1 2.
