Installation Instructions

2. Mounting with Special Adhesive (Best for large frameless mirrors)
a. Tools Needed
i. Tape Measure, Pencil, Level, Primer, Paintbrush, Sandpaper, Caulk Gun, Mirror
Adhesive, Vacuum Cups, J-Bar or L-Bar Channel Bracket, Gloves
b. Prep the Wall and Mirror
i. Measure and lightly mark the height, width, and corners of the mirror on the wall using
a tape measure and pencil. Using a level as a guide, draw a straight line where the top
and bottom of the mirror will be.
ii. Twenty-four hours prior to installing the mirror, apply a primer to the surface of the wall
where the mirror is to be installed. Allow the primer to thoroughly dry.
iii. Twelve hours prior to installation of the mirror. lightly sand the primer and wipe any
dust or debris away with a cloth. If necessary, remark the mirror dimensions on the wall.
iv. Clean the back of the mirror with a microfiber cloth so no residue is left behind.
c. Install a J- or L-Shaped Bar
i. If the frameless mirror has a beveled edge, use an L-bar to support the bottom of the
mirror. A circular saw fitted with a metal-cutting blade may be used to cut the L-bar to
the width of the mirror.
ii. Install the L-bar along the line drawn that indicates the bottom of the mirror. (Follow
the manufacturers installation instructions.)
iii. For a standard edge, use a J-bar to support the bottom of the mirror. A circular saw
fitted with a metal-cutting blade may be used to cut the J-bar to the width of the mirror.
iv. Install the J-bar along the line drawn that indicates the bottom of the mirror. (Follow the
manufacturers installation instructions.)
d. Confirm Placement and Fit
i. Before applying the adhesive, carefully lift and place the mirror into the channel to
confirm a proper fit. For best results, DO NOT skip this dry-fit (placement test) step.
e. Apply Mirror Adhesive
i. Apply beads of mirror adhesive to the back of the mirror using a standard caulk gun.
Follow size and pattern recommended by adhesive manufacturer.
f. Install Frameless Mirror
i. Using hand-held vacuum (suction) cups, slowly set the mirror inside the L- or J-bar and
allow the mirror to gently rest inside the channel.
ii. Starting at the bottom of the mirror, lightly push the mirror against the wall. Continue to
slowly press upward to secure the rest of the mirror to the wall.
iii. Tape mirror corners to the wall. Remove tape after the adhesive has completely dried.
*Confirm walls are relatively flat and plumb. If necessary, mark bump spots with a pencil and
sand them down before installing a frameless mirror.
