St a r t RaConfig
When st art ing RaConfig and selecting “ Use RaConfig ( Without 802.1x support ) ” for
the first tim e, syst em w ill connect t o the AP wit h best signal st rengt h and m atching
securit y set ting. When st art ing RaConfig, it will issue a scan com m and t o wireless
NI C. After two seconds, the list will updat ed wit h the result of BSS list scan. The
list include m ost used fields, such as SSI D, signal percent age, channel used,
encrypt ion st at us, aut henticat ion m ode, and net work t ype. The green handshake
icon indicat es t he connected BSS or I BSS network. The page is shown as figure 2- 1.

At t he m ean t im e of start ing RaConfig, t here is also a sm all ralink icon appears
wit hin windows t askbar as figure 2- 2. You m ay double click it to bring up t he m ain
m enu if you select ed t o close RaConfig m enu eariler. You m ay also use m ouse’s
right but ton t o close RaConfig ut ilit y. When RaConfig exit s from t he syst em , it will
rest ore WZC to it s init ial st at e before st art ing RaConfig. For exam ple, if WZC is
st opped before RaConfig st art ed. WZC will st ay st opped aft er RaConfig t erm inat ed.
I f WZC is running before RaConfig st art ed, it will be re- enabled after RaConfig
exit ed.

Besides, t he sm all icon will change color t o reflect current wireless net work
connect ion st atus. The st at us indicat es as follow:
