RaConfig or w indow s zer o configurat ion
I n windows XP, it provides wireless configuration ut ilit y nam ed “ windows zero
configurat ion” which provides basic configuration funct ion for RaLink wireless NI C.
I t also provides WPA support at hot fix Q815485 However; you have to m ake sure
that hot fix Q815485 ( require XP SP1 inst alled) has been inst alled in your syst em
before you can st art using WPA feat ures. You can check the inst allat ion of hot fix in
add/ rem ove software page under control panel. The page is show n as Figure 1- 1.

Currently, Ralink’s ut ilit y ( RaConfig) provides WPA- PSK supplicant’s funct ionality. I f
user required WPA function. Please select
WZC as m ain ut ility. To m ake it easier
for user to select t he correct utilit y. RaConfig will let user m ake t he selection when
it first ran after XP boot . Click
the icon of will bring up t he select ion window and let user m ake t he selection. I t is
shown as Figure 1- 2.
RaConfig can co- exist wit h
WZC. When coexisting wit h WZC, RaConfig only
provides m onit oring funct ion, such as link st at us, sit e surveying, st atistic counters
and advance feat ure st atus. I t won’t int erfere wit h WZC’s configure or profile
functions.
