Table A-2. Sense Key Code Descriptions
Code Condition Description
0h No Sense
No specific information to be reported; e.g., when a command was
successful.
1h Recovered Error
The last command completed successfully, but with some
recovery action performed by the ACL. Further details might be
available in the Information and Sense Key Specific fields.
2h Not Ready
Indicates that the ACL is not currently prepared for the requested
operation. For example, there might be a cartridge audit in
progress.
4h Hardware Error
The ACL detected a non-recoverable error condition that might be
due to a physical hardware failure or because the control firmware
detected an invalid state while performing the command or during
a self-test.
5h Illegal Request
Indicates an illegal parameter in the CDB or in the additional
parameters supplied as data for some commands.
6h Unit Attention
Indicates that the ACL was reset. In general it is used to notify an
initiator that a potentially significant change of state occurred,
often due to the actions of another initiator.
9h Vendor Specific ACL specific error condition.
Bh Aborted Command Indicates that the ACL aborted the command.
