Result Codes and Machine Status Introduction
37 25h Reserved for internal use.
38 26h Reserved for internal use.
39 27h Non-recording Detected - A write or format operation has failed due to
detection that older data or no data was read while writing.
40 28h Completed - A queued Physical Block command has been successfully
executed, but the MSR has entered a suspended state due to the
failure of a previous command in the queue. This Result Code may
occur due to latency in the validation of Physical Block commands with
respect to the execution of following commands. Note that the MSR
advances its Implicit (Read/Write) Position after executing both
successful and failed Physical Block commands.
41 29h Missed Pre-position Target - The first derived ADFN reported by the
transport after achieving roll speed lock was already beyond the read/
write target, or the derived ADFN at the target did not match the helical
SubArea ADFN, or helical tracks were not properly phase locked to the
Double Frame reference just before the write target.
42 2Ah Beyond Search Target - The first derived ADFN reported by the
transport (Absolute mode) or seen in the SubArea (Logical modes) was
already beyond the search target.
43 2Bh Search Target Found in Wrong Partition - A Logical mode position
command has terminated with SubArea data indicating the address
found is not in the target partition. This could occur if, for example, an
incorrect ADFN was supplied in mixed-mode positioning.
44 2Ch Unsupported Configuration For This Operation - An operation was
attempted which is not supported for the current Configuration
Parameter settings; this may be either a firmware or hardware
limitation.
45 2Dh Environmental Fault - A problem has been detected involving a
voltage, temperature or other environmental condition, such that the
command being executed cannot complete successfully.
46 2Eh Unable to Rewrite - A failure has been detected in read-after-write
verification after the last rewrite decision point, e.g., a C3 or Physical
Block checksum error.
47-254 Reserved
255 FFh Reserved for debugging.
