20500W0 User Manual & Operation Description
Updated 12/18/2019 6:48:00 PM
Charger compatibility: Qi 1.2.4, Samsung & Apple fast charge, 15W maximum.
Power Requirements: 12VDC 2.5A
Operation:
Phone Placement - Place the phone within the mat area, flat on the charger, face up. Optimal phone placement
for most phones is in the center of the charger.
Charging should start within a few seconds. The amount of power used during charging is determined by the
phone. The length of time it takes a phone to charge depends on the phone and battery condition, but most
phones with a good battery will complete charging from a discharged state in under 2 hours.
The color of the LED indicates the status of the charger:
Off - No phone is detected by the charger or the charger is not powered.
Blue - Charging.
Green - Charge complete. (Note: Some phones such as iPhones will not indicate charge complete.)
Red (blinking) - Charge halted because metal foreign objects or RFID cards were detected by the charger,
or the charger has detected an over-temperature condition. If this condition occurs then remove the
phone and all metal objects, credit cards, passports and other items from the charging area and wait till
the LED to turn off. Then place the phone back down on the charger. If this condition persists then check
the following:
Make sure the phone is lying flat on the charger, face up. If the phone has a case that prevents it
from lying flat on the charger then try removing the case. If the phone is too large to lie flat on the
charger then it is not compatible with this charger.
Check with your phone manufacturer to make sure your phone is Qi compatible.
Check the phone case for metal objects inside the case. Note that phone cases are allowed but not
recommended.
If the charger temperature exceeds design limits then the charger will reduce charging dynamically,
or if necessary, halt charging until the temperature drops sufficiently for the charger to operate.
Cautions
There must be no other objects on the charger such as coins, keys or any other metal objects present on the
charging surface because they may be subject to heating. The charger will not charge if metal objects are
detected near the charge surface.
There must be no credit cards, passports or any other RFID tags on the charging surface because they may be
subject to damage. The charger will not charge if RFID objects such as these are detected near the charge
surface.
If the phone is enclosed in a phone case then the case’s bottom thickness should be not more than
approximately 2mm and should not contain a compartment on the back.
Note that the phone cannot charge the battery if the battery temperature has exceeded the phone
manufacturer’s design limit. It is usually best to maintain an internal vehicle’s temperate below 30
o
C (86
o
F).
