SAFETY Important Safety Instructions When using your telephone equipment, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock and injury to persons, including the following: 1. Power failure – What to do Power failure can affect your phone and equipment. Only the corded phone will work if there is a power failure. Connect cordless phone charger base Plug the power adapter from the charger base into a wall socket. Important: Use only Power supply model S008CU1200067 supplied by Ten 2. Install battery Pao Industrial Co., Ltd.pack for Base unit.
GETTING STARTED Insert the rechargeable battery pack into the handset and plug it in as shown. Dispose of battery pack properly. Do not allow battery pack to come into contact with fire or water. Caution: Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Dispose of used batteries according to the instructions. 3. Charge handset Place the handset on its base to charge for a minimum of 15 hours before use.
GETTING STARTED Register the handset to a PowerTel 500, 580, 580 Combo or 680 At the new PowerTel 501 additional handset: Press and hold for 10 seconds until the display shows Press and hold Page key, which activates the registration mode. For a PowerTel 500 or 580, at the base: Press and hold the base flashes. (500) or (580) for 10 seconds until the charging light on Or: For PowerTel 580 Combo or 680, at the base: Press and hold for 10 seconds until the display shows Register.
GETTING STARTED 4. Use the keypad to enter the PIN code: 0000 (each ‘0’ it will be displayed as a *) Press . The display will show Press & hold base Page key. 5. Press and continue to hold down the Page key on the PowerTel base until the handset beeps. This can take between 10–15 seconds. Note: The Page key is used for registration and is located on the PowerTel base that the handset will be registered to. The key will have an icon like this on it. See page 10 for an example of where it may be located.

HELP AND SUPPORT Help and support For additional cordless phone features, please see your PowerTel 500, 580, 580 Combo or 680 User Guide. Some issues may simply be resolved by disconnecting the power to the unit. In such instances the power to the main base station should be switched off and battery pack in the handset should also be removed for about 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, replace the battery pack and reconnect everything to determine if this has resolved the issue.
HELP AND SUPPORT My handset keeps switching off 1. It may need recharging. So it can charge fully, place your handset on its charger base for at least 15 hours with the charger base plugged in and working. 2. Replace the rechargeable battery pack. Any replacement battery packs should be the same type as those provided. The phone system isn’t responding You may need to reset to default settings. Please see page 54. My handset or base doesn’t ring Check that the ringer is on.
