PROTECTION
TheSPThasinternalprotectionfromabnormalorfaultconditionsasdescribedinthefollowingparagraphs:
IftheSPToutputisoperatedintoanopencircuit,aprogrammablemaximumvoltageisappliedtotheoutput.This
conditionwouldoccurintheeventofanopen wireoraconditionwhereby
theinverterisnotconnectedtothe
grid.Thesystemintegratorisresponsibleforsettingthecorrectmaximumvoltagesetpoint.Itisnotpossibleto
setavoltagehigherthanthemaximumratedoutputvoltage.

If the SPT output is operated into a short circuit, a programmable maximum current
would flow through the
outputterminals.Thismayoccurifthereisashortonagivenoutputorsomeshortmayoccuronastring.Itis
neverpossibletoprovidemorecurrentontheoutputthanthislimitallows.Thesystemintegratorisresponsible
for setting the correct maximum
current setpoint. It is not possible to set a current higher than the specified
maximumratedoutputcurrent.

Ifthere isacombinationofoperationalconditionswhich causetheinternaltemperaturetoexceed105°C,over
temperatureprotectionwillfoldbacktheoutputcurrenttoapproximately50%ofthe
fullratedvalue.Thismay
occur in an extreme combination of conditions likely including: operation at elevated ambient in the range of
70°C,operationatfullratedpower,andboostingorbuckingoveralargerange.Thisprotectionwillonlyactivate
when these extremes are maintained over long periods
of time (likely measured in hours). When the internal
temperaturecoolsto95°C,normaloperationresumes.


