Signal Types and Specifications

The Octaire Distribution Matrix is a fixed system, i.e., containing a single video type (with a single

component per enclosure) or a single stereo audio enclosure or a single video type with stereo audio in a

fixed input/output (I/O) range. The available I/O configuration sizes are 32x48, 32x64, 48x32, 48x48,

48x64, 64x32, 64x48, and 64x64. This chapter contains signal specifications for each signal type.

The available video types for the Octaire are:

 Composite (in a single standard video enclosure)

 Y/c (in two standard video enclosures)

 Three-component/HDTV (in three ultra-wideband video enclosures)

 RGBHV (in three ultra-wideband video enclosures and two sync enclosures)

For information on understanding signal type labels on enclosures, using the color band kit for the BNC

connectors, and attaching video cables, see “Attaching Inputs and Outputs” on page 21.
