1. Move window lock lever(s) from lower lock position to
upper unlock position. Sash can be opened or closed.
2. Remove lock bezel using a small flat blade screwdriver,
taking care not to scratch the wood or bezel (right-hand
lock for awning windows). Removal of lock handle is
not necessary.
3. Below the lock handle in the bezel opening, locate the
battery tray tab. Due to the recessed location of this tab,
use of a flashlight may be necessary to illuminate work
area.
4. Using needle nose pliers, pull on tab to remove battery
tray.
5. Remove discharged batteries (see battery disposal
information).
6. Replace batteries with two fresh CR-1632 lithium coin
cell batteries. Take care to properly position the “+”
terminals of both batteries to correspond with the “+
marking on the battery tray.
7. Again using needle nose pliers, re-insert battery tray in
to sensor battery contact. Continue to fully push battery
tray in. Battery tray will encounter several points of
resistance as batteries contact the sensor.
8. Verify proper battery polarity.
9. Replace lock bezel.
10. Close and lock window unit.
11. Verify that sensor is communicating with security
control panel by unlocking window and checking
security panel for window unlock message and then
opening window and checking security panel for
window open message.
