General Safety precautions When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed including: This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. How to use your electric knife Remove the motor and the blades from the box. Wipe all parts with a moist cloth to remove any dust or dirt. Warning: Only hold the blades near the ends or by the plastic handles. Interlock the blades together before inserting them into the appliance. To assemble the blades, hold the shaft ends below the plastic handles and slip the rivet into the hole onto the tip of the other blade (fig 1). Move the blades together ensuring the tips remain attached.
Insert the plug into a power outlet and ensure the cord is clear from the blades, then switch it on. Please note that for safety reasons the knife can only be used if buttons 2 and 3 are pushed in at the same time (Fig 2), this acts as a safety function. Please be aware for the best results you should select the correct set of blades for the correct food type (see part list for details). Do not apply much force when cutting, allow the knife to do the cutting.
Hints Always place the food that is going to be sliced on a wooden or plastic cutting board. Do not slice food on fine china, metal or bench tops as it may scratch the surface. Guide the blades through the food. The use of a sawing action is not necessary. Do not try to force the blades through the food. To maintain the sharpness of the blades, do not cut through bones, fruit pips, stones or any other hard substances.
Electrical information Please note: It is extremely important that the wires or cores in the flex are connected to the correct terminals in the plug. If the colour of the mains lead of the appliance does not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug proceed as follows: The Live (Brown) wire connects to the right- most live (L) terminal nearest to the fuse. The Neutral (Blue) wire connects to the left-most neutral (N) terminal.
