5.8.2 IGMP Snooping Status Table
Multicast filtering is the system by which the end stations only receive multicast traffic if they
have registered to join specific multicast groups. With multicast filtering, network devices only
forward multicast traffic to the ports that are connected to registered end stations.
5.9 QoS (Traffic Prioritization)
Network traffic is always unpredictable and the only basic assurance that can be offered is the
best effort traffic delivery. To overcome this challenge, Quality of Service (QoS) is applied
throughout the network. This ensures that network traffic is prioritized according to specified
criteria and receives preferential treatments.
Traffic Prioritization includes three modes: port base, 802.1p/COS, and TOS/DSCP. By traffic
prioritization function, users can classify the traffic into four classes for differential network
application. All of Antaira’s industrial managed switches support four priority queues.
