Digital Signals
HDTV programming is transmitted using the new Digital TV (DTV) format. These signals differ from traditional ana-
log signals in a number of ways. The biggest difference between analog and digital signals is that digital signals are
line-of-sight (fig. 1). Also digital signals bounce off nearby obstacles often causing issues with over-the-air reception.
TO overcome these factors, move your antenna to the highest point possible and/or use a variable attenuator.
