Owner`s manual

Surround Positioning: The CL-1 will make an ideal surround speaker in a multi-channel
Classico setup. The primary surrounds are best placed to the sides of the listening area,
approximately two feet above seated ear height and even with or a little behind the
primary listening seats. If the room is long or if there are several rows of seating, more
than one set of surrounds can be placed along the side walls.
If you're installing secondary (rear) surrounds (i.e. a 7.1 system), place the secondary
speakers at the back of the room, approximately 150 degrees from the screen but still
about two feet above seated ear height. For alternate placement recommendations, please
consult your AVR manual or contact your local AGA dealer.
System Examples: An example of a stereo (2.0 configuration) setup using two stand-
mounted Classico CL-1s is shown in Figure 1. A stereo system with a subwoofer
(2.1 configuration) setup using two stand-mounted Classico CL-1s and a Classico
subwoofer is shown in Figure 2. An example of a surround sound with subwoofer
(5.1 configuration) setup using two stand-mounted CL-1s, one table-mounted CL-C center
loudspeaker, two wall mounted CL-1s for the primary surround channels, and a Classico
subwoofer is shown in Figure 3.

Cabinet or Bookshelf Placement: If you wish, you can place the Classico CL-1 on a
bookshelf or within a cabinet. Please make sure the shelf will support the speaker's weight
and is well secured to the wall brackets or cabinet so it won't rattle or vibrate. We suggest
the CL-1 be placed with its front edge even with the front edge of the shelf or cabinet to
reduce reflections. Also, be sure to set the speaker on the four (4) vibration de-coupling
gel discs provided. If it sounds like you're getting an echo or hollow sound, try moving the
speaker forward or backwards within the cabinet. You can also fill in the space around the
speaker with books or other solid objects.
Home theater positioning can mimic the above recommendations. However, try to keep
the L/R speakers within two or three feet of the edge of the TV screen. Once again,
whichever position gets the speaker closer to seated ear height is preferable, and if it must
be high or low, aim it down or up at the listeners. If you must place the CL-1 above ear
level, it is OK to place it upside down with the tweeter at the bottom to get it closer to
ear level.
