11.3.4. Update Firmware
Before You Begin
IMPORTANT
To eliminate the risk of interference with plant operaon, rmware update is only available when
the Communicator is disconnected from the OT networks.
Ensure that the Communicator is disconnected from the OT networks.
Procedure

To update the rmware:
1. On the Files & rmware page, click Upload.
2. In the Upload Firmware window, click Select rmware (.hi).
3. In the Open dialog box, browse to and select the rmware le and click Open.
4. To start the rmware upgrade, click Update rmware.
The rmware le is validated and transferred.
Result
• If the rmware le pass the validaon: The rmware is upgraded and then the Communicator automacally
reboots, for the upgrade to take eect.
• If the rmware le is rejected: An error message appear.
