6.2. Setup New Conguraon
Follow these steps to setup a new Communicator conguraon.
1. Subnetwork conguraon
On the Communicaon page:
a. Select a serial protocol: Modbus RTU (default), Custom Request/Response or Custom Produce/
Consume.
For informaon about the serial protocol types, see Serial Protocol Types (page 6).
b. Congure the basic sengs Physical standard:, Baud rate, Data bits, Parity and Stop bits.
2. Create Transacon Templates
This step applies when the serial protocol Custom request/response is selected.
On the Transacon templates page: Add a transacon template and congure the template sengs.
Repeat unl you have added and congured all your transacon templates.
