6 Configuration Quick Guide
This section is intended to give you a short overview of the tasks you need to perform to
configure the Communicator.
For detailed information, please refer to Communicator Configuration, p. 31.
6.1 Prepare Configuration
1. Connecting to the high level network
Connect the Communicator to the
PROFINET high level network.
2. Connecting the Communicator to the subnetwork
Connect the Communicator to the serial
RS232/RS485 subnetwork.
3. Connecting to PC and power
a. Connect an Ethernet cable between
the Communicator configuration port
and your PC.
b. Connect the Communicator to a
power supply.
