PowerDeck shelves: Instructions ® 1. Safety 1.1 Warnings 1.1.1 General When installing the power shelf it is important to observe these installation instructions, in addition: • The requirements of the specification IEC950 / EN60950 must be met. • All local and national wiring regulations for connection to the supply must be met. There are no user serviceable parts contained in this equipment and all installation and maintenance must be performed by qualified service personnel. 1.1.
PowerDeck shelves: Instructions ® 2. Components and Ratings 2.1 Shelves and accessories Two PowerDeck shelves are available for use with the MRF1400 and the MRF1700 series of rectifiers. Both are 3U (5.25") high, and suitable for use in 12" deep equipment racks. • The MS14A accommodates up to 3 rectifiers, and fits into 19" racks. • The MS14B accommodates up to 4 rectifiers, and fits into 23" racks. Both are supplied with front mounting flanges.
PowerDeck shelves: Instructions ® Shelves fitted with MRF17H54* rectifiers have maximum ratings shown in table 2.3 below (for a fully configured shelf containing the maximum number of rectifiers shown in the table). PowerDeck shelves: Instructions ® 4. Customer Wiring 4.1 AC Connection Each rectifier position in the shelf is provided with a separate two way terminal block for the AC mains connection mounted on the rectifier's backplane board. This board is illustrated in figure 4.1, where SK4 is the AC mains connection terminal block, and the connections are labelled AC1 and AC2. The terminal blocks should be wired 2 with 16AWG UL wire (1.3mm ) in accordance with table 4.1.
PowerDeck shelves: Instructions ® 4.2 DC Connection The outputs from the rectifier modules are wired from the backplane PCBs and commoned together on busbars. Connection is by two 8mm studs, pitched at 25.4mm, on each busbar. A suitable double hole lug is recommended. 4.3 Signals Interface The signals from each rectifier are connected via ribbon cables from each backplane PCB on to a common node card inside the shelf.
PowerDeck shelves: Instructions ® 5. Settings and adjustments 5.1 Jumper Links The node card has two jumper links fitted, J1 and J2, these are illustrated in figure 4.1 below which shows a section of the node card. The configuration of these should be set when the shelf is installed using the information table 5.1 below.
