Specifications

UPS network interface card for network administrators that provides standards-
based management of UPSs in rack, computer room and datacentre environments.
The presence of the Internet makes the proper function of networking hardware
critical to the success of an enterprise network. When a power-related event
causes a router to reboot, hundreds of users can lose connectivity with the rest
of the network. This loss diminishes the profitability of a business. Therefore, a
key requirement for administrators today is to keep network equipment highly
available through proper power protection.
Flexible and convenient power management capabilities are essential to
ensure high availability of mission-critical networking equipment such as
servers, routers, switches and hubs. The APC Web/SNMP Management Card
has an integrated embedded Web server on-board. This feature enables full
management of UPSs protecting networking equipment from power-related
events using a standard Web browser. The Web/SNMP Management Card
reaffirms APC’s leadership and commitment to Web-based and SNMP power
management systems.
Features include:
Connection of APC Smart-UPS, Matrix-UPS
®
, or Symmetra
Power Array
to the
network in a 10Base-T environment. The network administrator now has the
ability to fully manage and control the UPS through open industry standards like
HTTP (standard Web browser), Telnet, or SNMP.
Integration with industry leading SNMP-based management platforms like CA
Unicentre TNG, Cabletron Spectrum, HP OpenView, SunNet Manager, and
Tivoli Management Environment.
Lowers cost of ownership by allowing remote mass configurations over the net-
work, thus reducing the time and cost of installation during a mass rollout of
Web/SNMP Management Cards.
Event logging and e-mail notification upon unfavorable events.
Web/SNMP Management Card
UPS card for network administrators that provides safe system shutdown for multiple
Operating Systems (OSs) in rack, computer room and datacentre environments.
Essential for multi-server monitoring of a single UPS, especially in a mixed OS
environment, the 2-port Interface Expander Card easily integrates with APC
Smart-UPS, Matrix-UPS or Symmetra Power Array to provide graceful shutdown
during power anomalies.
Features include:
Allows multiple servers running various operating systems to monitor one UPS*.
Each server can be configured to shut down independently during extended
power outages.
Provides two additional serial interface dry contact ports for simple signalling.
Each server runs its own copy of PowerChute
®
plus software for monitoring
and power management of the UPS.
Dip switch controls on front of adapter provide flexibility in selecting proper
monitoring and management functions.
