Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive Compliance
Aperto Network products sold within the European Union (EU) are subject to
the requirements of the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)
Directive; as implemented by national legislation in each EU country. The
objectives of the Directive are to reduce the environmental impacts of
WEEE by promoting re-use and recycling, as an alternative to disposal.
From 13 August 2005, product placed on the EU market is required to be
marked with the symbol shown below. This symbol indicates that end-of-life
electronic equipment generated within the EU should not be mixed with
other types of waste or placed in the general waste stream; but should be
segregated for the purpose of re-use or recycling.
