The User Pod
Each user console, consisting of a
keyboard, mouse, and monitor,
connects to a user pod. The user pod
encodes mouse and keyboard data
then transmits it, via the Cat5 cables,
to the output cards in the core, and on
to the selected system pod. OSCAR
(On-Screen Configuration and
Activity Reporting), which is used to
operate the ViewPoint system, is
accessed at the user pod.
The System Pod
Each system pod can attach to two
computers. The system pod decodes
the keyboard and mouse commands it
receives, via the Cat5 cables, from
the input cards in the core, and
forwards the data to the selected
computer.
