Connection and operation
Verify that your mobile device‘s connection values correspond with the product‘s
connection values (see technical data).
Do not short-circuit the USB outputs.
a) Charging the rechargeable battery
• Beforerstuseyoumustchargethe“ApotopCopyAdapter’s”rechargeablebattery(slideswitchto“OFF”).
Connectthe MicroUSBplugon theincludedUSBcabletotheMicroUSBport onthe“ApotopCopy
Adapter”.ConnecttheotherendwiththeUSBAplugtoaUSBportonyourcomputerordirecttoaUSB
poweradapter(e.g.aniPadorAndroiddevicepoweradapter).Thebatterychargeindicator“ ”lightsup
redduringcharging.
• Rechargethebatterywhenthebatterychargeindicator“ ”lightsuporange.Rechargingacompletely
emptyrechargeablebatterymaytakeapprox.5–6hoursdependingontheUSBpowersupply(USBpower
adapterwith 2000 mA). The battery chargeindicator goesout whenthe rechargeablebattery isfully
charged.
• Donotoperatetheproductduringcharging.
b) Operation as a mobile copy and storage station
• Downloadtheapp“Wi-Copy”toyourmobiledevice.Theappisfree.
• Movetheslideswitchlocatedonthesideoftheproductto“ ”.The“ApotopCopyAdapter’s”WLAN
routertakesapprox.30-35secondstostartup.WaituntiltheblueWiFiindicator“ ”ontopofthedevice
startsashing.
• Startupyourtabletorsmartphoneandconductasearchforavailablewirelessnetworks.Yourdevice
shouldlocatethe “Apotop CopyAdapter’s”network.ThepresetSSIDis named “Wi-Copy_xxxxxx”for
example(thex’sstandforthedeviceserialnumber).Inthedefaultsetting,noencryptionisenabledsoit
ispossibletoaccessyourstoragedevicesimmediately.
Thisdefaultsetting was chosen deliberately toallowtheusertoaccessthe“Apotop Copy
Adapter”and/ortheInternet(connectRJ45cable,see“OperationasaWLANrouter”)without
makinganycongurations.Youmay activateencryption(e.g. WPA2)via the“ApotopCopy
Adapter‘s”set-upmenu.
• ConnectaUSBmemorysticktotheUSBportoranSDmemorycard(typeSD/SDHC/SDXC,max.32GB)
tothe“ApotopCopyAdapter’s”SDcardslot.Thestoragemediaindicator“ ”ontopofthe“ApotopCopy
Adapter”lightsupgreen.Bothtypesofstoragemediamaybeusedsimultaneously.
• Startthedownloadedapp.Youcanusetheappe.g.toviewpicturesfromtheUSBstick/SDmemorycard
ordownloadthemtothetablet/smartphoneorsavepicturestotheUSBstick/SDmemorycard.
Forexample:YoucanusetheapptocopypicturesfromaniPadtoanSDmemorycardinordertoprint
thepicturesataphotoprinteravailableinmanylocations.
Ifyouwanttoviewapictureinfullscreenonyourmobiledevice,youmayneedtorotatethe
mobiledevice(e.g.iPadorsmartphone)inordertoseetheWi-Copyapp‘suserinterface.
c) Operation as a WLAN router
Connectthe“ApotopCopyAdapter’s”RJ45sockettothenetwork(e.g.Internetconnectioninahotelroom)
usinga1:1connectednetworkcable.
Naturally,youmusthaveaccessrightstotheInternetconnection.Ifindoubt,askatthehotel‘s
receptiondesk.
Movetheslideswitchlocatedonthesideoftheproductto“ ”.The“ApotopCopyAdapter’s”WLANrouter
takesapprox.30-35secondstostartup.WaituntiltheblueLEDstartsashing.
• Startupyourtabletorsmartphoneandconductasearchforavailablewirelessnetworks.Yourdevice
shouldlocate the “ApotopCopyAdapter’s” network; thepresetSSID is named“Wi-Copy_xxxxxx” for
example.
• Connect your mobile device’s WLAN(WiFi) tothe “ApotopCopyAdapter”. In the default setting, no
encryptionisenabledsoitispossibletoaccesstheInternetimmediately.
ThisdefaultsettingwaschosendeliberatelytoallowtheusertoaccesstheInternetwithout
makinganycongurations.Youmay activateencryption(e.g. WPA2)via the“ApotopCopy
Adapter‘s”set-upmenu.
d) Operation as a mobile charging station
• ConnecttheUSBAplugontheincludedUSBcable(oradifferentsuitableUSBchargingcable)totheUSB
portonthe“ApotopCopyAdapter”.ConnecttheotherendwiththeMicroUSBplugtoaMicroUSBporton
yourmobiledevice(tablet/smartphone).
• Movetheslideswitchlocatedonthesideoftheproductto“ ”.Thepowerindicator“ ”lightsuporange
andchargingbegins.Thechargingcurrentcannotexceed2A.Monitorthechargingprocess.
• Aftercharging,movetheslideswitchlocatedonthesideoftheproductto“OFF”anddisconnecttheUSB
cablefrombothdevices.

• Chargetherechargeablebatteryregularly,evenifyouarenotusingtheproduct.Duetothe
rechargeablebatterytechnologybeingused,youdonotneedtodischargetherechargeable
batteryrst.
• Neverchargetherechargeablebatteryoftheproductunattended.
• Whencharging,placetheproductonasurfacethatisnotheat-sensitive.Itisnormalthata
certainamountofheatisgeneratedduringcharging.
