Usingdamagedcablesorchargers,orchargingwhenmoistureispresent,cancausefire,electric
shock,injury,ordamagetoiPadorotherproperty.WhenyouchargeiPad,makesuretheUSBcableis
fullyinsertedintothepoweradapterbeforeyouplugtheadapterintoapoweroutlet.Itʼsimportantto
keepiPad,theUSBcable,andthepoweradapterinawell-ventilatedareawheninuseorcharging.
ChargingcableandconnectorAvoidprolongedskincontactwiththechargingcableandconnector
whenthechargingcableisconnectedtoapowersourcebecauseitmaycausediscomfortorinjury.
Sleepingorsittingonthechargingcableorconnectorshouldbeavoided.
ProlongedheatexposureiPadanditsUSBpoweradaptercomplywithrequiredsurfacetemperature
limitsdefinedbyapplicablecountryregulationsandinternationalandregionalsafetystandards.
However,evenwithintheselimits,sustainedcontactwithwarmsurfacesforlongperiodsoftimemay
causediscomfortorinjury.Usecommonsensetoavoidsituationswhereyourskinisincontactwitha
deviceoritspoweradapterwhenitʼsoperatingorconnectedtoapowersourceforlongperiodsof
time.Forexample,donʼtsleeponadeviceorpoweradapter,orplacethemunderablanket,pillow,or
yourbody,whenitʼsconnectedtoapowersource.KeepyouriPadanditspoweradapterinawell-
ventilatedareawheninuseorcharging.Takespecialcareifyouhaveaphysicalconditionthat
affectsyourabilitytodetectheatagainstthebody.
USBpoweradapterTooperatetheAppleUSBpoweradaptersafelyandreducethepossibilityof
heat-relatedinjuryordamage,plugthepoweradapterdirectlyintoapoweroutlet.Donʼtusethe
poweradapterinwetlocations,suchasnearasink,bathtub,orshowerstall,anddonʼtconnector
disconnectthepoweradapterwithwethands.Stopusingthepoweradapterandanycablesifanyof
thefollowingconditionsexist:
Thepoweradapterplugorprongsaredamaged.
Thechargecablebecomesfrayedorotherwisedamaged.
Thepoweradapterisexposedtoexcessivemoisture,orliquidisspilledintothepoweradapter.
