Battery Handling
The PowerBook140/145/
170 main battery is a nickel
cadmium (NiCad) battery
with a voltage of 5.65–7.5
volts. Its longevity is
estimated at 500 power
cycles. To extend its
longevity, follow the battery
handling instructions.

Warning: The main
battery contains toxic
materials. Send undamaged,
dead batteries to Apple for
recycling—do not discard
dead batteries with other
