Step 3: Congure your MacBook Air with Setup Assistant.
ThersttimeyouturnonyourMacBookAir,SetupAssistantstarts.SetupAssistant
helpsyouenteryourInternetinformationandsetupauseraccountonyour
MacBookAir.YoucanalsomigrateinformationfromanotherMacduringsetup.
Note: Ifyoudon’tuseSetupAssistanttotransferinformationwhenyourststartup
yourMacBookAir,youcandoitlaterusingMigrationAssistant.GototheApplications
folder,openUtilities,anddouble-clickMigrationAssistant.
To set up your MacBook Air:
1 IntheSetupAssistant,followtheonscreeninstructionsuntilyougettothe“DoYou
AlreadyOwnaMac?”screen.
2 Doabasicsetuporasetupwithmigration:
 To do a basic setup,select“Donottransfermyinformationnow”andclickContinue.
Followtheremainingpromptstoselectyourwirelessnetwork,setupanaccount,
andexitSetupAssistant.
 To do a setup with migration,selecttheMacyouwanttomigrateinformationfrom.
YoumayhavetoupdatesoftwareiftheotherMacdoesn’thaveMacOSXversion
10.5.3orlaterinstalled.Thengoto“MigratingInformationtoYourMacBookAir”on
page16.
Note: AfteryoustartSetupAssistantonyourMacBookAir,youcanleaveitmidprocess
withoutquitting,movetotheothercomputerifyouneedtoupdateitssoftware,and
thenreturntoyourMacBookAirtocompletethesetup.
