2 IntheSharingpanel,select“DVDorCDSharing”intheServicelist.Ifyouwantother
userstorequestpermissiontoshareaDVDorCD,select“Askmebeforeallowingothers
tousemyDVDdrive.”
To enable DVD or CD Sharing, if your other computer is a Windows computer:
1 MakesureyourMacBookAirandtheWindowscomputerareonthesamewireless
network.
2 OntheWindowscomputer,opentheDVDorCDSharingcontrolpanel.
3 Select“EnableRemoteDVDorCD.”Ifyouwantotheruserstorequestpermissionto
shareaDVDorCD,select“AskmebeforeallowingotherstousemyDVDdrive.”
To use a shared DVD or CD:
1 Ontheothercomputer,insertaDVDorCDintotheopticaldiscdrive.
2 OnyourMacBookAir,selecttheRemoteDiscwhenitappearsunderDevicesinthe
Findersidebar.Ifyouseethe“Asktouse”button,clickit.
3 Ontheothercomputer,whenprompted,clickAccepttoallowyourMacBookAirtouse
theDVDorCD.
4 OnyourMacBookAir,usethediscasyounormallywouldonceitbecomesavailable.
IfyoutrytoshutdowntheothercomputerorejectthesharedDVDorCDwhile
yourMacBookAirisusingit,youseeamessagetellingyouthatthediscisinuse.
