Send unassigned MIDI messages to all channel strips
• In the MIDI tab of the MainStage Concert Settings Inspector, select the “Send
unassigned MIDI to all channel strips” checkbox.
Transpose incoming note pitch for a concert in MainStage
You can transpose the pitch of incoming MIDI notes for every set and patch in a concert at
once by using the Transpose Concert setting. You can raise or lower the pitch of incoming
MIDI notes in semitone increments, to a maximum of 8 octaves higher or lower.
Transpose the pitch of incoming notes
• In the MIDI tab of the MainStage Concert Settings Inspector, click the Transpose
Concert slider and do one of the following:
• Drag the value up or down.
• Use the arrow keys to raise or lower the value.
• Type the number of semitones higher or lower you want to transpose the concert.
Note: The total amount of pitch transposition applied to incoming notes is the sum total of
all transpose settings. For example, if you have set the Transpose Concert setting to +12,
the Transpose Set setting to +12, and the Transpose Patch setting to +12, your incoming
notes are raised in pitch by 36 semitones.
Define the program change message source in MainStage
By default, MainStage receives and responds to program change messages from all
connected MIDI controllers. However, some MIDI controllers send program change
messages while performing other operations. You can define the source for program
change messages for a concert, so the concert responds to messages for only one MIDI
device, port, or channel.
Choose the source for program change messages
1. In the MIDI tab of the MainStage Concert Settings Inspector, choose the source device
or port for program change messages from the Device pop-up menu.
2. If you want to limit messages to a single MIDI channel on the device, choose the MIDI
channel from the Channel pop-up menu.
Send unused program changes to channel strips in
MainStage
In a MainStage concert, you can send program change messages that are not used for
switching patches to channel strips for changing plug-in presets and other functions.

• In the MIDI tab of the MainStage Concert Settings Inspector, select the Send unused
Program Changes to Channel Strips checkbox.
