No: The object is ignored by reective surfaces.
Reection Only: The object becomes invisible, but appears in reective surfaces around it.
Reections and groups
In addition to choosing reection settings for individual objects, you can adjust settings for
an entire group. Reection settings for a group override the settings of individual layers in the
group. For example, if an object in a group is not set to receive reections, turning that setting
on for the whole group forces the individual object to receive them. Turning o the setting for
the group allows the objects’ settings to act as expected.
Cast Reection settings work dierently. If the group is set to cast reections, individual objects’
reections can still be turned o (or set to Reection Only). However, if the group is set to not
cast reections at all, individual objects never cast a reection, regardless of their setting.
Disable reections
Rendering reections can signicantly impact playback performance. You can temporarily disable
reections to improve playback speed while working on other aspects of your project.

m From the Render pop-up menu in the status bar, choose Reections (or press Control-Option-R).
