Time lters
Time lters overview
Other lters manipulate objects in two or three dimensions, but Time lters manipulate objects
temporally. Time lters are most often used to modify moving footage.
For a description of each Time lter, see the lters list in the Help table of contents (the sidebar
to the left of this window).
Echo
Echoes an object’s motion by repeating frames. As a result, moving areas of an image leave a
streaking trail behind.
This lter causes rasterization in 3D groups. For more information on rasterization, see Groups
and rasterization on page 1045.
Parameters in the Inspector
Delay: Sets the amount of delay between echoes. Values range from 0.1 to 1. A value of 0.1 is a
zero frame echo, and a value of 1 represents a 60-frame echo.
Number: Sets the number of echoes.
Decay: Sets the amount of time it takes for an echo to decay.
Amount: Sets the relative opacity of each echo.
Mix: Sets the percentage of the original image to be blended with the ltered image.
